How To Leverage Video Games Tactics To Achieve Your Goals.

When I was a kid

I loved video games.

I spent hours playing games every day.

The game creators understand human psychology.

So they used it to get people hooked.

Social media also does the same thing.

But I'll focus on video games for today.

2 tricks video games uses to hook your attention.

1. Real-time Progress

You can see your progress in video games.

And that motivate you to keep going.

2. Reward system.

You get rewarded with tokens, gifts and other incentive.

Keep this in mind as you read.

The Reality Of Life.

No one is going to show you how closer you're towards achieving your goals.

You just have to believe you're on the right path.

When you moved towards a meaningful goal.

You won't get an immediate reward.

Instead, You'll feel pain and overwhelmed.

Most people can't bear the pain.

They choose video game to get cheap dopamine over the game of reality.

I used to try to avoid pains

But then I realized pain is unavoidable.

Reality is painful.

You can't escape pain.

You either experience the pain of discipline.

Or experience the pain of regret.

How to get addicted to real life progress.(4 steps to achieve anything)

1. Set A Goal:

Without a goal, you have no direction.

Video game is addictive because you know the goals you want to achieve.

Someone has done that for you.

But you have to do it for yourself in real life.

A goal gives you clarity.

Clarity gives you motivation to get started.

2. Turn the goals into daily and weekly tasks:

Big goals are not actionable.

They're like compass.

It shows you where you're going.

But you need to take steps.

Your steps are your daily action that moves towards achieving your goals.

3. Create your own progress:

Video games show you the progress you made in a real time.

Which makes the game addictive.

It's time to create your own progress bar.

— Pick up a sheet of paper.

— Draw a small box.

— Write the date on top of each box.

— Tick the box when you complete your daily task.

Try not to miss it twice.

Do you know what you did?

You have created a progress system.

You can see your progress in real time.

The amount of time and energy you have invested into the goal is on paper.

This will make you keep going.

Humans like to be consistent.

4. Your Reward system:

Video games reward you with cheap dopamine.

Now create your own reward's system.

The brains want to do more if you reward it.

After you completed a task.

Reward your brain.

7 ways to reward your brain.

• Journaling.

• Reflection.

• Read Books.

• Going on a walk.

• Healthy meals.

• Listening to music.

• A call with a loved one.

I hope you loved this.

Try it out and come thank me later.
