How to make people read your content

My first post online got 1 like.

The like came from me.

But there was a reason why nobody liked my content.

After creating content every day for the past 10 months.

I've learned the most important thing that makes people read your content.

Do you know what it is?

The Hook.

The hook is what captures people's attention.

The hook is why people read your content.

The hook is why some posts go viral.

Let's break down the 5 key elements to help you craft a persuasive hook.

1. Relevant Topic:

People will read your content when the topic is relevant to their current situation.

If you want your ideal audience to read your post,

Write about what they should care about.

2. Simplicity:

The best hooks are simple and concise.

People read content that is understandable.

— Cut out fluff.

— Remove adverbs.

— Use simple language.

One of my favorite quotes:

“Simplicity is the highest sophistication.” — Leonardo da Vinci.

Keep it simple.

3. Big Promise:

Tell your audience how the content will help them.

And why they should keep reading.

When people see your content,

The first question that comes to their mind is:

“What's in it for me?”

Answer this question early.

Nobody wants to waste their time.

4. Timeframe or Number:

People love certainty.

When you use numbers in your hook,

It makes them want to know more about it.

I know it works, and I use it almost every time.

5. Personalize:

People connect with people, not with AI.

If you want your writing to be relatable,

Personalize your message.

Use “I” and “you” instead of “we” and “them”.

You're building a personal brand for a reason: to connect with people.

Make your writing personal.

These 5 elements will help you craft a persuasive hook that'll make people read your content.

And they'll see you as an authority.

That's all for today.

Have a wonderful weekend.
